Chateau Rúbaň Frankovka modrá 2022 | Red Dry Wine

The grapes for this Blaufränkisch come from old vineyards in the Southern Slovak region and were processed gently using a combination of traditional and modern methods. After fermenting on whole berries and undergoing malolactic fermentation, the wine aged for 17 months in large 1,400-liter and smaller 400-liter barrels. The result is a lighter red wine of light crimson color with a ruby reflection, carrying honest varietal character and woody elegance.

The aroma is subtly fruity, built on notes of ripe cherries and plums, complemented by a typical hint of cinnamon. The palate is balanced and spicy, dominated by juicy stone fruits underscored by fine, well-structured tannins. This dry wine combines traditional Southern Slovak Blaufränkisch with a modern aging style, giving it pleasant complexity and length.

Serving: at a temperature of 15 – 17 °C, with lamb and goat meat, roasted waterfowl, or hard aged cheeses.
