Rochefort Trappistes 10 330ml
Rochefort Trappistes 6 330ml
Of the six Belgian Trappist monasteries that brew beer commercially, the Abbaye de Notre Dame de Saint-Rémy on the outskirts of Rochefort is the most traditional and mysterious, and apart from the community of monks, few outsiders know who makes the beer. Founded by Cistercian monks inside the abbey, the Rochefort brewery was founded in 1595. It brews just three types of beer, labeled according to the old Belgian system: 6-amber, 8-amber brown and 10-brown. Despite a renovation in the 1960s and an expansion of its capacity, the brewery produces only 25,000 hl of beer per year, ensuring the uniqueness and rarity of this beer gem.
