Hop Hooligans Brewery, Romania

Hop Hooligans is an independent craft brewery based in Jilava, just outside Bucharest, Romania. Founded in 2016 by Cristian Mihai Dinu and Mircea Georgescu starting out as enthusiastic homebrewers and enduring the loss of an early co-founder the brewery quickly gained its footing and became one of Romania’s most notable craft breweries with growing international reach.

The brewery’s philosophy is simple: brew beers they love to drink. Their portfolio focuses on hop-forward styles like NEIPAs, but stretches across a wide spectrum from dark stouts and fruity sours to robust barleywines and experimental brews featuring wild fermentation, barrel-aging, and unique adjuncts. All beers are unfiltered, unpasteurized, and made without compromise.

New releases come fast and often with new batches brewing almost weekly. Hop Hooligans collaborate frequently with both local and international breweries, and were among the first in Romania to can their beers, launching their own packaging line in 2018.

In the heart of Bucharest, their taproom showcases both their own beers and a curated selection of international brews. It hosts tastings, concerts, and community events on a regular basis. Hop Hooligans stand for creativity, independence, and uncompromising flavor -  a compelling choice for those seeking bold beer with a real story behind it.
