Brasserie de l’Abbaye des Rocs Brune 1979 | Belgian Strong Dark Ale
Abbaye des Rocs Brune 1979 is an iconic Belgian Strong Ale crafted with devotion and depth. Brewed without added sugars and using seven types of barley malt along with selected spices, this 9 % ABV dark ale boasts a royal ruby colour and dense ivory head. The flavour unfolds like a fine red wine – layers of vineyard peach, mirabelle, prune, blackcurrant, and wild strawberry swirl with notes of honey, vanilla, maple syrup, and subtle spice to create a rich, decadent profile.
Its aromatic complexity is reminiscent of freshly baked fruit tarts, laced with gentle wood, citrus zest, chocolate and even a hint of cherry liqueur. On the palate, the beer is velvety and full-bodied, with a sparkling carbonation and balanced bitterness. The alcohol supports the flavours without overpowering them, leading to a long, luxurious finish with echoes of kirsch, raisin, and fine aged port. This beer isn’t just for drinking – it’s meant for savouring.
Ingredients: water, BARLEY malt, spices, hops, yeast.
