Brasserie de l’Abbaye des Rocs Blanche des Honelles 1979 | Belgian Witbier
Blanche des Honelles is not your typical witbier – this Belgian gem breaks from convention with a deeper character and a rich brewing tradition. Brewed with three cereals – barley, wheat, and oats – and subtly spiced with coriander, it pours a warm amber colour, a nod to historic wheat beers. At 6 % ABV, it offers a fuller body and a stronger flavour than most modern whites. Expect a dry, peppery bitterness without the usual citric tartness, making it uniquely bold and refreshingly different.
Originally created in 1991 near the Honelles rivers, this beer has moved far beyond its local roots. Its aroma is understated, but on the palate, it surprises with layers of complexity – herbal spice, cereal warmth, and earthy dryness. Blanche des Honelles is a witbier for those seeking a more mature, characterful expression of the style.
Ingredients: water, BARLEY malt, WHEAT malt, OATS, coriander, hops, yeast.
