Abbaye Notre-Dame de Saint-Remy Rochefort Trappistes 8 | Belgian Strong Ale
Rochefort Trappistes 8 was first brewed in the 1950s as a special Christmas beer, which earned it the nickname “Spéciale”. Today, it stands as one of the most iconic Trappist ales, brewed at the Notre-Dame de Saint-Rémy Abbey in Belgium, with a robust 9.2% ABV.
It pours a deep brown color with a thick, off-white head that slowly dissipates. The aroma combines caramel, dried fruits, and subtle spicy notes, while the flavor delivers raisins, dark berries, chocolate, and caramel, leading to a long, warming and slightly sweet finish. Best enjoyed between 12–14 °C, Rochefort 8 reveals its full complexity and perfect balance of malt sweetness, fruity depth, and alcohol warmth.
Ingredients: water, BARLEY malt, sugar, yeast, hops, spices.
