This legendary Oatmeal Stout defined its category and remains one of the most acclaimed brews from Mikkeller. The 2025 edition stays true to the original recipe, combining seven types of malt, including chocolate and smoked, with high-quality coffee from Coffee Collective. The addition of oats and brown sugar gives this special brew an exceptionally full body and a creamy, almost velvety texture. It is a complex dark ale suitable not just for breakfast, but for any moment when craving an intense flavour experience with artisanal character.

The aroma and palate are clearly dominated by notes of freshly roasted espresso and dark chocolate, accompanied by a subtle smoky hint in the finish. The appearance is opaquely black with a thick brown head that traps the aroma in the glass. Thanks to the balance between maltiness, coffee bitterness, and a touch of sweetness, it pairs perfectly with desserts like chocolate cake, but also surprisingly well with savoury mains such as smoked brisket or mushroom risotto.
