This exceptional wine comes from selected vineyards in the Rioja Alavesa region, made mainly from Tempranillo with a small proportion of Graciano. The name “XR” pays tribute to the historic practice of Marqués de Riscal’s cellar masters, who used to mark the most outstanding barrels with the initials “XR” – wines that stood out for their unique character and quality.

The bouquet reveals a rich complexity of dark fruit aromas such as black cherry and plum, intertwined with notes of spice, licorice, and cinnamon, complemented by subtle hints of well-integrated oak. On the palate, it is full-bodied and well-structured, with fine, mature tannins, balanced acidity, and a long, elegant finish that reflects both power and finesse.

Serving: at 16 - 18 °C, with legumes, poultry, lamb chops, sweet pastries, stews, roasted meat and grilled meat.

Contains SULPHITES.
