Tatratea is a distinctive tea-herbal liqueur inspired by the long-standing traditions of the High Tatras. Its recipe is rooted in an old mountain custom of combining a warm herbal infusion with strong spirits to create a drink that offered warmth and vitality in harsh alpine conditions. The modern version of Tatratea was introduced in 2004 and quickly became known for its unmistakable character.

The bottle’s shape resembles a mountain thermos traditionally used for carrying hot tea, while the “T” emblem reflects elements of Slovak folk culture. Production takes place in the historic Tatranská likérka distillery in Kežmarok, housed in an industrial building from the 19th century. The liqueur is made by macerating teas, herbs, fruits and spices, which are then blended with a high-quality alcohol base.

Tatratea is recognized for its broad range of expressions – from the classic 52% Original to stronger versions and lighter fruit- or herb-based variants. Each expression has its own distinct profile built on carefully selected ingredients and a respect for natural flavours.
