Tatova Borovička 40% | Juniper Distillate

This traditional Slovak spirit is built on an exceptionally honest foundation and a true craft approach. The first unique step in its production is using the distillery's own grape brandy (vínovica) instead of regular neutral grain spirit. This grape base is made from young wine harvested in the Skalica vineyards, completely free from any artificial additives or chemicals. The spirit itself is produced through slow redistillation in small batches under the strict supervision of master distiller Vierka, ensuring maximum control over the purity of every single drop.

A carefully selected mix of highly aromatic black and sweeter red juniper berries in organic (BIO) quality enters the still, sourced from local growers in the nearby South Moravian village of Čejč. Time also plays an indispensable role in forming the final character – the spirit rests and matures naturally for a full 12 months in stainless steel tanks. This prolonged resting period allows all components to harmonize flawlessly. The result is a crisp, dry, and clean spirit with deep roots in local culture, featuring a bold aroma and a well-balanced palate dominated by wild juniper notes.
