Brouwerij Duvel Moortgat, Belgium

Duvel Moortgat is an independent family brewery with over 150 years of tradition, and today stands among the leaders in the world of specialty and craft beer. The story began in 1871, when Jan-Leonard Moortgat and his wife founded a small farmhouse brewery in Breendonk, Belgium. Thanks to their craftsmanship, passion, and focus on quality, the modest local brewery gradually grew into an internationally recognized name.

Today, Duvel Moortgat is one of the most respected breweries in Europe. It combines deep-rooted family traditions with innovation, sustainability, and a constant drive to push the boundaries of brewing. The brewery is built on three core pillars: quality, craftsmanship, and a pioneering spirit. Carefully selected ingredients, a proprietary yeast strain, state-of-the-art technology, and a skilled team all contribute to beers of exceptional taste and character.

The brewery’s flagship is the iconic Duvel – a strong, golden Belgian Strong Ale known for its intense hop profile and rich, foamy head. In addition to Duvel, the brewery oversees several other respected craft brands, including Chouffe, Vedett, Liefmans, and the American Firestone Walker. Together, they form a diverse and high-quality portfolio.

Duvel Moortgat is living proof that tradition and innovation can go hand in hand. It’s a brewery that has maintained its independence, character, and artisanal approach while consistently delivering exceptional beer experiences to enthusiasts around the world.
