5 Myths about Rosé. Do You Believe Them?

Everybody knows how it looks and taste and still many people believe in false facts.

1. The cliché that rosé is meant for women

Let’s be honest here, how many of you do not drink rosé wine just because you do not consider it as proper alcohol? Maybe the society leads you into this believe or its just your general opinion. Anyway, we will present you the other side of the coin.

A famous tradition called Poteo exists In Basque Country (Spain). What is it about? Basically it describes people going from pub to pub drinking rosé wine. 2. It is a blend of red and white wine

No, it does not work like this. They do not blend together, however, they play a certain part in production process. Rosé Wine is made out of blue berries. After the berries are crushed they are let to rest for about 4-6 hours. Meanwhile berries release red colouring in just the amount which is sufficient to creates its characteristic rose colour. When this process is done, a must is separated from peels and the rest of the process follows the same rules, as in standard wines. 

3. It has a low percentage of alcohol

It can have but it is not a rule. Especially those sweet wines have less percent alcohol, 10% or less. Then the drier ones can easily climb up to 14%, which can be compared to the alcohol content of strong red wines.

4. It is mostly sweet

Even with rosé wine, you will find it dry, semi-dry and semi-sweet. So, if you don't like it too sweet, you don't have to worry about not giving you an alternative.
